His committee at the annual meeting of the AAUP in Washington, D.C. opposed the lifting of censure of the University of Illinois (U of I). AAUP removed the U of I from censure a mere two years following the Steven Salaita contract voidance. Professor Kirstein鈥檚 committee felt UIUC had not reformed adequately to merit censure removal.
