荔枝视频下载 Senior Library is central to implementing, enriching and supporting the vision and the teaching and learning programme of the School as well as supporting the students’ spiritual journey. Library staff proactively assist students to develop into information literate and independent lifelong learners with a love of reading. The library offers excellent resources and there is a variety of stimulating spaces to work in, both collaboratively and individually.
The library is located in the BH Travers building with expansive views over Sydney Harbour. Students are encouraged to come and use the facilities, services and resources.

Opening Hours

The library’s opening hours are:
Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 8.00pm
Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm

The library opens at 7.20am for Study Centre and students in Years 11-12.

The library is open for Year 12 students during the holidays. The hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm.

The 荔枝视频下载 library was first opened in 1903 as a memorial to Old Boys who had served in the South African and China Wars around the turn of the century. The library was named The Boer War Contingent Memorial Library to honour these men. The library moved to its current location in 1976 and was extended and refurbished in 2000.


The library is strongly committed to sourcing and providing an information-rich environment for students and staff. Both print and digital collections are available. Digital material includes databases, ebooks, audiobooks and ejournals as well as access to a vast digital video library on ClickView.
The library offers access to many high quality databases suitable for different year levels. They can be accessed both at school and from home via the School’s portal. Britannica and World Book are particularly useful for boys in Year 7 and 8. Older students can find excellent information in the more subject-specific databases. Some of these are World History in Context, Science in Context, Artmis Literary Sources, Australia/NZ Reference Centre, Newsbank, and JSTOR.

Rich collections of printed fiction and non-fiction material are available. Besides the main collection with up-to-date resources, there are valuable collections of rare books and books written by 荔枝视频下载 Old Boys. The library also offers access to newspapers, journals, computers, AV equipment and DVDs.


Library staff help with finding suitable resources and teach research skills and referencing. They can also assist with software use and choosing the best tools for a particular task. There are facilities for printing, photocopying, scanning and spiral binding.
Skills taught by the teacher librarians support class tasks and demonstrate the importance of information fluency in context and in terms of lifelong learning. 荔枝视频下载’s Wide Reading programme aims to foster a love of reading. All students in Years 7-10 come to the library once per cycle for a Wide Reading lesson with a teacher librarian.

Study Centre

Study Centre offers subject specific help with school work by 荔枝视频下载 teachers and Old Boys. It operates as a drop-in centre with timetabled sessions before and after school held in the library. There is no extra cost for this.
